Edward Elgar: How Calmly the Evening (SATB)

In 1907 Elgar was commissioned by the editor of The Musical Times to write a simple hymn. 'How Calmly the Evening' was the result. Elgar described it as 'homely but felt'. The words are from a poem by Thomas Toke Lynch.
